Your children are expressing their feelings!
Research studies have shown that an emotionally safe environment is vital in the learning process. Keeping this in mind, Chrysalis reinforces this in ThinkRooms through the “How are you feeling?” chart! Teachers encourage children to share their feelings, and by doing so, she learns more about her students. Children begin to learn how to share their feelings and respect feelings of their peers. As children begin feeling comfortable in expressing their feelings, they also learn to empathize with their friends.
As children become more aware of feelings, the ThinkRoom becomes a safe place for learning and growing. Since children are given the space to express themselves, teachers understand the general feeling in the class and can do something for her students to feel better. In an environment where children can express themselves, they are not afraid to make mistakes and by doing so, learn better. This environment paves the foundation to build key skills in your children, such as empathy, confidence, respect and kindness.
