Your children's data belongs in India. That's where we keep it.
For 25 years, schools have trusted Chrysalis with their children's data. Every Chrysalis record is stored in India today, and by 31 March 2027 every part of Chrysalis, including AI, will run in India too.
Where your data is today
Stored in India.
Every school, teacher and student record, every recording and every scanned page is stored in India.
Voice heard in India.
When a child reads aloud in VOICE, their voice is heard and scored on Chrysalis's own servers in India.
AI is coming home.
A few AI features, such as marking written work and writing progress reports, still use trusted AI services outside India. We are moving every one of them to India.
All of Chrysalis, running in India, by 31 March 2027.
Not a goal. A date.
- Today
All data stored in India. VOICE runs on our own servers in India.
- Through early 2027
Marking, progress reports and every other AI feature move to AI models hosted in India.
- Our date31 March 2027
Every part of Chrysalis, including every use of AI, runs in India.
- The law's date13 May 2027
India's data protection law brings in its main duties for children's data. Chrysalis will already be ready.
Built for India's data protection law
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP) is India's law for personal data. It treats everyone under 18 as a child and asks for extra care with their data. Its main duties begin on 13 May 2027, and we are building for them now.
How we look after it
Kept in India.
On systems Chrysalis controls, not scattered around the world.
Protected on the move.
Between the tablet, the classroom and our servers.
Seen by the right people.
Teachers see their classes; parents see their own child.
Checked every day.
Our systems are checked for security every day.
It starts with VOICE
- A child speaks
Reading aloud or answering a question in VOICE, on the school's tablet.
- Heard in India
Speech is recognised and scored on Chrysalis's own servers in India.
- Kept safe
Results are held by Chrysalis, the partner schools have trusted with their data for 25 years.
- Progress you can see
Skill by skill, in the Holistic Progress Card.
Next, we are training a speech model on Indian children's voices, so VOICE understands every child even better.

Yes. All of it.
For a few AI features, yes: the part needed for that task is sent to a trusted AI service outside India. VOICE does not. By 31 March 2027, none will.
Running AI on our own servers in India takes careful testing. We are moving one feature at a time, so nothing breaks for your school.
Its main duties begin on 13 May 2027. We are building for them now and plan to be ready before that date.
Yes, to help it understand Indian children better, using recordings with names and personal details removed. We never use them for anything except children's learning.
Yes, through the school.
Bring Chrysalis to your school.
